Positive Things We Can Do To Make Our World Better

I we will be posting our interview with Mary Remer from Pocatello Animal Services from last night within the next few days but in the meantime you need to know about the following events that help our community:

May 2nd is Idaho Gives Day.  You may give to several Idaho Charities or just one and every donation will help our community and State.  In particular the Pocatello Animal Services Department does great work to help animals in our community.  If you donate on May 2nd to http://idahogives.razoo.com/story/Friends-Of-The-Pocatello-Animal-Shelter you will help the department continue its good work.  If you cannot give online, Idaho Central Credit Union on Benton Street has kiosks that will allow to you to donate there for the shelter.  There will be Music and other entertainment at ICCU so that is always an option too.

As may of you know, recently PAS helped to get the Holbrooks Pit Bulls to safety and most will be able to be saved.  One of the costs of this effort was the $700 gas bill to get the dogs to Boise for rehabilitation and healthcare.  The funds from the May 2nd event will help the department continue offering these rescue services.  Remember you can donate anytime but the main event is May 2nd 12:00 am to 11:59 pm, full 24 hours.

Also, on May 4th at the Bannock County Fairgrounds the Rabies Clinic will begin.  You can get your pets protected from this disease for an extremely low cost.  The Veterinaries from our community will be there to give the vaccinations and there will be information on other shots that are excellent for your pets continued health.  Pocatello Animal Licenses will be available for half price as well.

The Shelter is hoping to break ground for the new Animal Shelter in July so we will let you know more about this as it comes closer.

On a world level today is World Aids and Malaria Day.  Just by watching the HBO trailer that is linked below you can help two children impacted by this disease.  Malaria particularly can be eradicated.  Please help by watching today!

We can make a difference in so many ways take just a little time today and on the 2nd to support the goodness we can create.
